| In addition to academic credit programs, AustraLearn has created a range of short term certificate programs where students can obtain global skills and explore a particular area of interest. These programs allow for more personal and professional discovery of topics in a 2 or 3 week program. Students will interact with the environment and other individuals, as well as focus specifically on one subject, all of which will allow a student to gain an understanding or improve a skill in a particular area of interest. For instance, the Leadership Development Program in New Zealand is designed to host students in any major who wish to explore the topic of leadership development and improve their own leadership skills and capabilities in a challenging, outdoor environment. The guest lecturers and field visits are all geared to showcase how students can expand their leadership knowledge. The Global Discovery Institute Programs are also ideal for students who wish to addon another experiential program to their semester abroad, and these programs are offered at times to coincide with the start or end of the academic terms of the AustraLearn member universities in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. These programs are not offered for academic credit, however all program participants receive a certificate of completion either from AustraLearn or one of our partner universities who are offering the program. These certificates can be applied to any existing degree program under negotiation with your home university, and we encourage you to speak with your international office and your academic advisor about your participation in these programs. New Global Discovery Institute programs are constantly being developed. |
