Location

-Located 10 minutes from the city centre, the University of Canberra sits on 120 hectares of land in Bruce in Australia’s capital city, home of the Australian Government. Canberra is a very picturesque city with much bushland surrounding the campus with wildlife on campus.

-Across the road is the Australian Institute of Sport, including the Olympic swimming pool and stadium.

-Calvary Hospital is nearby.

-Nearby is one of the main shopping centres for the city, less than a 10 minute walk from student residences.

•National Centre for Forensic Studies in association with the Australian Federal Police and Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). Includes forensic science, biology, chemistry, crime scene investigation, toxicology, computer forensics, environmental forensic chemistry and wildlife forensics.

•The Institute for Applied Ecology is an interdisciplinary group which aims to contribute to the understanding and improved management of plant and animal species, communities and ecosystems, with particular reference to the impact of human activity.

•National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM) is an award-winning centre whose key area of expertise lies in developing microsimulation models using microdata for a range of purposes. NATSEM analyses wealth, income and spending, models the impact of social and economic policy and undertakes social and economic research.

•e-Water Co-operative Research Centre (CRC) seeks to produce practical products that bring economic, commercial and environmental benefits from the smart management of water.

•Co-operative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism seeks to underpin a dynamic, internationally competitive and sustainable tourism industry.

•Co-operative Research Centre for Invasive Animals aims to counteract the impact of invasive animals through the development and application of new technologies and by integration of approaches with the relevant agencies.

•Communication Research Group combines an emphasis on the application of communication systems and practices, such as multimedia with a focus on the construction of meanings through various kinds of texts for various audiences.

•Learning Communities Research Area involves conducting, supporting and collaborating on research in education and community development.
