| DENVER, Colo. – July 8, 2008 – GlobaLinks, the umbrella organization for the AustraLearn / AsiaLearn / EuroLearn educational programs, today announces the appointment of Mona M. Miller as director of its EuroLearn study abroad programs. In her new role, Miller will oversee all program development, budgeting, marketing, and operations activities for EuroLearn, which offers study abroad opportunities in Europe and the United Kingdom. EuroLearn is a sister program of AustraLearn, a long-standing provider of programs in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, and AsiaLearn, a provider of programs in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. “Mona brings to this position 17 years of education abroad management experience, including creating new study abroad opportunities, working with overseas educational institutions, including those in the United Kingdom and Europe, and running study abroad programs,” said Cynthia Banks, executive director and founder of the Westminster, Colo.-based GlobaLinks. “She also offers a wealth of international savvy as someone who speaks French fluently, has knowledge of Spanish, and has lived in the African countries of Togo, Burundi, and Gabon during her six years with the U.S. Peace Corps.” “We look forward to working with Mona to expand our diverse program offerings and support services to students who want to experience this historically, educationally and culturally rich region of the world,” Banks said. Miller previously was director of customized faculty-led programs for International Studies Abroad (ISA) of Austin, Texas. Prior to ISA, Miller was director of study abroad for the Office of International Education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, which followed a position as coordinator of study abroad for the Center for International Education at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. Before that, she spent six years with the U.S. Peace Corps in a variety of roles and international locations. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Oklahoma City University, attended the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver and earned a master’s degree in intercultural management from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vt. She will be based out of GlobaLinks’ main office in Westminster, Colo.
