Overview

The University of Canberra features a combination of high quality programs and a beautiful campus located in Australia’s capital city. With current student population of almost 10,000, some 900 are international students from over 80 countries in Europe, North and South America, the Pacific, Asia and Africa. Canberra is an ideal base to explore Australia. The South Coast is only 1.5 hours drive from Canberra where you will find magnificent beaches, lakes and rivers. The area encompasses a range of National Parks and State Forests where there is great camping and hiking away from the crowds. The clubs and restaurants of Melbourne, and Sydney’s city beaches and harbor views are also easily accessible from Canberra, thanks to frequent bus services between the three cities. The Australian Alps or Snowy Mountains are just two-hour drive. The city itself, like many National capitals, is a city you can walk or cycle to explore the many museums, galleries, parks and government buildings. You can visit Australia’s Parliament House, home of the Federal Government, the High Court of Australia, the National Art Gallery and National War Memorial.

Programs are offered through the School of Business and Government, School of Creative Communication, School of Design and Architecture, School of Education and Community Studies, School of Health Sciences, School of Information Sciences & Engineering, School of Languages, International Studies and Tourism, School of Law, School of Professional Communication and the School of Resource, Environmental & Heritage Sciences. University of Canberra has also received the following recent awards:

•IT students national Australian champions in the Microsoft Imagine Cup for 2006 and 2007.

•5-star rating for graduate employment (Australian Good Universities Guide 2007)

•An “A-list university for excellence in business education” (Commonwealth Department of Education Science & Training Learning & Teaching Fund 2006).

BIO:
Jodi and Michelle work in tandem in degree student services, managing student admissions and pre-departure processes to all Australian and New Zealand universities.

AustraLearn’s degree student services provides assistance and advice on accepting offers, banking and financing an overseas education, the visa application process, as well as , travel and housing arrangements.

Jodi earned her B.S. in mass communication at the University of Evansville in Indiana. She studied a semester abroad at the University of South Australia and has also been an exchange student to Germany. She has traveled through western Europe, volunteered in Guatemala, and has extensively backpacked Australia and New Zealand.

Michelle holds a B.S. in International Business from the University of Colorado at Denver. She worked in London for 6 months and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Australia, Mexico, and Canada.
